October 28, 2013:  Language Arts.  Students read chapter 9  novel and answered three questions.  Worked on vocabulary words for chapters 9-14 for the novel "The Pinballs."  Students also did a self reflection.

Homework:

•  Simple Solutions pages 62 & 63
• Complete vocabulary graphic organizer chapters 9-14
• Study for quiz on affixes Wednesday, 10/30/2013
• Make sure all assignments are turned in, end of quarter 10/31/2013

No school for students on Friday, Professional Development day.

October 17, 2013:  Language Arts:  Students reviewed Simple Solutions.  Students worked on five-paragraph essay.  This will be due during class tomorrow.  Students should have rough draft completed and ready to write final draft.

Collecting journals over the next three days, worth 35 points.

Language Arts 10/16/2013:   Students created a character trait Venn-diagram and used this to assist them write a 5 paragraph essay from the story, "The Pinballs."  Students should be able to finish essay in class tomorrow.

• Collecting journals on Thursday and Friday (35 points)

October 15, 2013:  Language Arts:  Students will be taking a test today on the first four chapters from the story "The Pinballs."  Students will work on an English assignment, Compound Predicates.

Homework:

• Research book report due 10/16/2013.  Please make sure you include the rubric
• Simple Solutions pages 50 & 51
• Study for retake test on affixes

End of quarter 10/31/2013.  Do your best to be "College and Career Ready."

Medical exclusions will start October 15, 2013.
