December 18, 2014:  Students reviewed Simple Solutions 44 & 45.  Students made a journal entry on the novel Middle School and worked on a winter Haiku poem.

December 16, 2014:  Students took a Simple Solutions quiz on lessons 24-28.  Students reviewed Simple Solutions lesson 43.  Students worked on SRA at their assigned level.  Students turned in poetry group project.

• Read Middle School #65 to 75
• Study vocabulary terms for poetry test tomorrow.

December 15, 2014: Classwork, Homework and Notifications

December 15, 2014:  Students finished up the them Friends in their poetry lesson and began working on the them Family.  Students worked in small groups and discussed the meaning of the poetry and what they felt the author of the poem was trying to express.  Students added two more academic vocabulary words to heir list and two root words.

Homework:

• Study for Simple Solutions quiz lessons 24-28
• Simple Solutions lesson 43
• Poetry test on Wednesday (vocabulary terms and one comprehension question

Thursday Wheel of Wisdom rewards (students must fulfill school rewards criteria in order to attend.).  

Friday, December 19, 2014 progress reports sent home and at the end of the day Winter Break begins.

Students will have a Christmas party in the afternoon and the PTC is so graciously paying for the pizza and drinks from the "Penny Wars" contest.  Thanks to all of you on PTC. :)

December 11, 2014:  Students worked on journal entry on the novel Middle School.  Students reviewed practice book and Simple Solutions homework.  Students worked in groups on three poems answering comprehension questions using R.A.C.E.  Collected student journals.

December 5, 2014:  Students worked on journal entry and were introduced the theme for this unit on Fairness.  Students took  prespelling test, reviwed simple solutions and introduced to two new root words.

December 4, 2014:  Students did a listening activity on Brainpop for a grade.  Students reviwed reading strategis such as:  Test taking strategies, Idioms and Cliches and to Tone and Mood.  We will review Simple Solutions lesson 37 tomorrow.  Students also learned to new root words ( duct and dyn).

    December 3, 2014:  Students reviewed Simple Solutions lessons 35 & 36. Students made a journal entry on their Middle School novel chapter 53.  Students were introduced to a new vocabulary word today "Clarification."

December 1, 2014:  Performance assessments for the novel "The Watsons go to Birmingham 1963 is due today.  Students viewed the movie today.  Field trip tomorrow and thank you to all the chaperones.  Please be here at 9:15.  Students need to bring a snack and a bag lunch.
