Classwrok, Homework, & Notifications Week of December 19, 2011

Wedensday, December 21, 2011:  Students will be preapring their eggs for the egg drop on Friday.  They may bring addtional materials prpare their embryo for a safe trip home through Earth's atmosphere.

Friday, December 23, 2011:  Students will be having a Christmas party in the afternoon.  I will supply pizza and soda, students will be allowed to bring a treat (32 students).

Phase #4 Science Projects:  This is due on Tuesday, December 6, 2011.  Students should write about their experiment (expository essay) and the three trials, results, conclusion and what they would do different. 

Last Phase #5 Science Project:  This will be due on Thursday, December 15, 2011.  On December 15, 2011, students will bring in an entire copy of their paper, and their scinece board.   Boards are available at the school for $3.00.  I encourage the students to email me or see me before or after school with any questins that may arise. 

Social Studies, December 8, 2011:  Students worked on Social Role Pyramid.  Students were given a rubirc on what is expected.  Resource for students on page 88 to help them.  This is due on Friday, December 6, 2011.  Students will work on a holiday hieroglyphs activity on Friday for a small portion of time.  This will be due on Tuesday, December 13, 2011. 

Science, December 7, 2011:  Students took science test and will get back tomorrow.  Students are allowed to make corrections.  Need to write out question and answer on a separate piece of paper to get credit.  Heagons had a 4-square assignment for "Newton's Law of Mtotion" to complete.

Students can wear Halloween shirts with Jeans or wear black and orange on Monday for Halloween.   We will be having a Halloween party and movie towards the afternoon.  If students are bringing treats, there are 31 students in the class.

Science:  October 3, 2011:  Students went over study guide for science test on Wednesday, October 5, 2011.  Students were presented a project on creating a scaled model of room 112 using graph paper.  Students wrote rubric in their notebooks.  Do not forget students who have a current event due on Tuesday.

Social Studies:  October 4, 2011:  Students were given a short research projecct on a famous Hispanice person.  Students recieved a rubric and this will be due on October 20, 2011.  Students can type the project as a report, do a PPT or poster.  Students were presented in social studies to day polictical cartoon on environmental issues.  Students will work on their cartoon n class on Thursday.

Students worked on science lab using the steps of scientific method.  Students began creating a foldable (organize their notes for section 1).  This will be due at the end of class on Friday.

Students wokred on map of the world.  This will be due completed on Thursday, September 15, 2011.  Students were told to label the oceans, continents and at least 5 countries for each contienent if it applies.  Students are also suppose to color the entire map.  Students can use their social studies textbook pages A23 & A24 or the Internet.  Thank you!

Most of the students in 112 have been given their scores for NWEA testing  in Math and Reading for the fall and winter.  Students are suppose to write these score in the front of their school agenda and share the scores with you.

Students have been given a rubirc for an activity on the rock cycle.  This will be due on Friday, March 18, 2011.  There is research required and this has been addressed on the rubric.  This activity will be their research grade for the 3rd quarter.

Many Students in Reading and Science did not have their work assigned to them during the two days off.  Students must have their work by Monday to get partial credit.  In Reding students were asked to write a note to their parents to have signed and bring back on Monday.
